Introductions

Do pardon the earlier brusqueness, things were rather in a panic.  Please allow me to introduce myself...

  1. We can't make proper introductions to each other without at least a name, good sir.

    1. A Name is naught but a simple alias by which to call someone, no? I have many of those. I suspect I identify more closely with these 'fake' names than the name my own mother chose to give me upon my birth.

Perhaps in time you will find different things to call me, and different names to know me by. Perhaps even the 'real' one. But for now, I am simply a Dramatic Detective, here to play my part. Whatever that may prove to be.

  2. I have to say that giving an introduction hidden by a password yet no hints to the password, is not a good way to earn trust. I can understand paranoia, but can you give any of us a hint? Otherwise we can never learn more.

    1. Hints are everywhere if you look, or rather perhaps, listen.

    2. It seems that He has begun breaking through the most recent encryption protocols. The document should be safe, but I shall have to drop from communications shortly, and may not be back for a while. If anyone has any further questions, ask them quickly.

  4. Alright, sorry I missed the deadline for... whatever it is that happened. Uh, I hope you're alright and can read this whenever your systems come back online.
Does "He" go by a name the public knows, in legends or myths? Or is He someone unknown to the general public?
Are you part of a known organization or is it simply those like you who hunt those like "Him". [is there something else we can call Him?] The use of "Detective" makes me think it must be an organization of some sort.
This is all I have for now. I hope you are able and willing to answer them.
If you would rather speak in private about these matters, my email is meredithannking@gmail.com
I am here to help you in any way, and to listen and be non-judgmental in whatever you feel you should say or confess.

    1. I will do my best to answer this for you, but I cannot answer it in these public comments, nor can I answer it all at once or too directly. We have to be very careful. We can only expand our file servers so much at a time without arousing suspicion, and even then certain key words could very well make our security so much hot air.

I shall be preparing another post shortly.

  5. ...ok, I just discovered this and I'm confused. Who is He?

    1. Believe me, the confusion is no mistake. It's just as much for your safety as it is for the sake of keeping our communications secret. Revealing too much, or too directly may give Him the key He needs to find us.

And your ignorance... if He does find us, you not knowing much is the only thing that will keep him from going after you.

  6. Ah we're back online. Don't worry about the autoresponder, it simply helps with security. I don't understand much about it to be honest, you'd have to ask my associate if you wanted to know more.

All I know is, our communications are secure so long as the infiltration level remains below 7, and we are safe so long as the risk level stays below 5.

  7. Well I finally read your message, kind sir. Might I refer to you as Detective from now on?
Anyway, while I won't explicitly discuss nor reference the contents of your introduction, this...He... that chases you seems to thrive on pursuers of the truth. A most clever foe indeed.
Rest assured that I, along with the few others who have discovered your tale, will assist you as best as we can.

    1. Right now the best security possible is to spread word of this place to as many people as possible. Don't worry about spreading it to His Agents for now, our security is good enough to filter for them. Though if one of your friends cannot find this site when told about it, you may want to keep a close eye on them.
